Common Childhood Communicable Diseases During Winter.

Colds, flus and other respiratory illnesses are more common in colder months. Effective prevention of communicable diseases at home not only safeguard the health of children and staff by minimising the harm caused by the diseases, but also ensure a delightful home environment to support the healthy development of children.

Dr Daniel CHIU

Director, HKPF

Dr Daniel CHIU is a specialist in Paediatrics and a Director of the Hong Kong Paediatrics Foundation. He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor (Honorary) of the Department of Paediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He is currently a member of the Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health. Dr CHIU was the President of the Hong Kong Paediatric Society, and Assistant Director of the Auxiliary Medical Service Cadet Corps.

Dr Lilian WONG is a specialist in Paediatrics. She was the President of the Hong Kong Paediatric Society, President of the International Chapter of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM), Regional Vice President of the International Association for Adolescent Health (IAAH), and a member of the Standing Committee of the Asia Pacific Pediatric Association (APPA). She is currently the Secretary General of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Paediatric Foundation, a Clinical Associate Professor (Honorary) of the Department of Paediatrics and the School of Public Health, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), and a Member of Commission on Children in Hong Kong.
